Rotorcraft airframe with two counter-rotating rotors, one on top of the other
Flying Wing
Fixed wing airframe that is difficult to launch and may wobble
Helicopter
Rotorcraft airframe with one set of rotors

Octocopter
Rotorcraft airframe with eight props
Quadcopter
Rotorcraft airframe with four sets of rotors
Redundancy
A part in a UAS that has the same function as another part and that exists so that the entire machine, system, etc, will not fail if the main part fails
Tricopter
Rotorcraft airframe with three props in a Y configuration
Y6
A tricopter airframe but with six props
Center Of Pressure
The point where the total sum of a pressure field acts on a body, causing a force to act through that point
Drag
The retarding force acting on a body (as an airplane) moving through a fluid (as air) parallel and opposite to the direction of motion
Force
Strength or energy exerted or brought to bear
Lift
The component of the total aerodynamic force acting on an airplane or airfoil that is perpendicular to the relative wind and that for an airplane constitutes the upward force that opposes the pull of gravity
Thrust
The force produced by a propeller or by a jet or rocket engine that drives a vehicle (as an aircraft) forward
Weight
A measurement that indicates how heavy a person or thing is
Center of Gravity
The point over which the aircraft would balance
Elevator
A hinged section at the rear of the horizontal stabilizer
Orientation
The amount of rotation of the parts of the aircraft along the principal axes of x, y, z
Pitch
An up or down movement of the nose of the aircraft
Roll
An up and down movement of the wings of the aircraft
Rudder
A hinged section at the rear of the vertical stabilizer.
Yaw
A side to side movement of the nose of the aircraft
