Sensory Organ
organs such as the skin, eyes, ears, nose, and tongue that gather information from outside the body.
Peripheral Nerve
a nerve that is not part of the central nervous system and receives sensory information from cells in the body.
Reflex
an action or movement of the body that happens automatically as a reaction to something.
Stimulus
something in the environment that causes a living thing to respond.
Response
a reaction to a stimulus.
learned behavior
a behavior the an organism develops as a result of experience or observation.
Spinal cord
a thick band of nerves that carries messages to and from the brain.
