Built Environment
The part of the physical landscape that represent material culture; the buildings, roads, bridges, and similar structures large and small of the cultural landscape
Cultural Imperialism
Domination of one culture over another by a deliberate policy or by economic or technological superiority.
Custom
The frequent repetition of an act, to the extent that it becomes characteristic of the group of people performing the act.
Folk Culture
Culture traditionally practiced by a small, homogeneous, rural group living in relative isolation from other groups.
Folk Housing
building styles that are particular to the culture of the people who have long inhabited the area; there are three distinct folk-housing regions in the United States (by way of Europe):
Folklore
The traditional beliefs, myths, tales, and practices of a people, transmitted orally.
Folk Songs
composed anonymously and transmitted orally. A song that is derived from events in daily life that are familiar to the majority of the people; songs that tell a story or convey information about daily activities such as farming, life cycle events, or mysterious events such as strorms and earthquakes.

Material Culture

Pop Culture (Popular Culture)
Found in large, heterogeneous societies that share certain habit despite differences in other personal characteristics.
Relocation Diffusion
The spread of a feature or trend through bodily movement of people from one place to another.
Taboo
A restriction on behavior imposed by social custom.
Terroir
The contribution of a location's distinctive physical features to the way food tastes
