-It is up to the agency to interpret its statute and create regulations.
-Conducts investigations to ensure that employers are in compliance with the statute and the subsequent regulations.
-Agencies can impose fines, penalties, and remedies
-Agencies can enjoin employers from carrying out certain decisions like employee terminations, promotions, and assignments or they may require employers to reinstate specific employees or eliminate certain employment practices
