Trust vs Mistrust: Birth - 1 years old
Stage 1: During this stage the child trusts parents to feed or not feed them. The degree for which the infant's food and oral stimulation is satisfied determines the level of trust established.
Generativity vs Stagnation: 30s - 50s
Stage 7: Adults contribute to future generations through raising a family and working.
integrity vs Despair: 60s - death
Stage 8: Older adults see life as meaningful vs feeling that personal goals were not met.
Autonomy vs Shame: 2- 3 years old
Stage 2: During this stage the child learns self - sufficiency vs doubting their own abilities.
Initiative vs Guilt: 3 - 5 years old
Stage 3: During this stage the child learns to take initiative in learning new tasks vs the child developing a sense of guilt surrounding sexual feelings.
Industry vs Inferiority: 6 - 11 years old
During this stage, the child engages in worthwhile activities that require them to stick with a task to completion. Failure to complete makes the child feel inferior.
Identity vs Role Confusion: 12 - 18 years old
During this stage, changes in the appearance of the body, sexual feelings and change in social roles lead to confusion relative to identity.
Intimacy vs Isolation: 19 - 30 years old
During this stage individuals form intimate relationships vs withdrawing from social relationships.
