describe the stalin era in russia from end of ww1/ beginning of ww2 till his death? its implications? what was the secret speech
Russia in WWI was very rural, super unindustrialized and not advanced which is why they lost so many soldiers. Soldiers used swords, japanese guns, muskets while Germans were advanced and using machine guns. Stalin realized and started industrializing it. Built many things including the "5-year-plan." Russia was an empire, Stalin would kidnap people to force them to work in these industries. Famine. Industrialized for preparation for WWII.
After WWII, Stalin took a part of East Poland. Poland then took a part of Germany's land. Secret police comes in.
After Stalin Dies:
People are released from Stalin's camp. Most people were political prisoners who had beliefs.
The secret speech was the speech Krushchev gave that was supposed to be secret. In this speech, he denounced Stalinist excesses.
