Season:
a period of the year determined by the position of Earth as it revolves around the sun
Tropical:
describing a climate that is very hot and humid; describing an area of Earth that is near the equator
Orbit:
the circular path of an object as it revolves around another object
Equator:
an imaginary line that divides Earth into Northern and Southern Hemispheres; located halfway between the North and South Poles
Energy (physical):
the ability to do work or cause change; can be changed into different forms and can move between objects
Radiant energy:
energy that does not need matter to travel; light
Water:
a molecule that contains two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom
Polar:
in earth science, having to do with the areas on Earth closest to the geographic North or South poles
Temperature (Weather):
the measure of how hot or cold the air is outside
