the percent proportion written as an equation with the % as a decimal

the amount by which the regular price of an item is reduced
sales tax
a percentage of a sale price. The sales tax is added to the sale.

the amount of $ paid or earned for the use of $. For a saving account, interest is earned. For a credit card, interest is paid.
Percent of change
the percent an amount has increased or decreased in relation to the original amount.
