Address Correction Surcharge
Any time a shipper has to look up an address because it was entered incorrectly.
Change Request Fee
If a package is available for a change of delivery, a shipper may choose to change the delivery drop off, or request a signature upon arrival. The shipper may inquire an associated change request fee, depending on the request specifics and timing.
Collect on Delivery (COD)
When the shipper is to collect payment on delivery but the recipient refuses to pay, there is a charge to return the package.
A surcharge added when the parcel contains a dangerous material
A package that has a declared value for liability purposes.
Delivery Area Surcharge
Certain areas determined by zip code, typically they are sparsely populated or are geographically difficult to get to
When a recipient requests a specific delivery date/time and/or requests to have package delivered to alternate address.
Delivery Reattempt Fee
The parcel carrier will reattempt delivery when a signature is required for deliver or if the delivery driver's discretion prevents delivery. Each reattempt may have a charge.
Large Package Surcharge
When a package exceeds limits set by UPS, the package will be billed at a minimum weight set by the pricing guide.
When a package exceeds 96 inches in length or 130 inches in length and girth.
When the parcel carrier picks up the item in an international setting or the pick up area is in certain zip codes

When a shipper requests FedEx to have signature proof-of-delivery
Residential Delivery Surcharge
A charge is assessed any time a package is delivered to a residence, even when a business is operating out of their own home.
Saturday Delivery Surcharge
A charge is assessed if Saturday delivery is requested by the shipper. The fee is still charged even if the Saturday delivery doesn't happen due to the recipient being unavailable or the shipper later requested a different date. If the parcel carrier fails to deliver on Saturday, the feel could be eligible for a refund.
Saturday Pickup Surcharge
When a parcel is picked up on a Saturday
Signature Required Surcharge
When a shipper requires a signature at delivery, possibly for proof of delivery or other tracking reasons
When a package stays in the parcel carrier's facility longer than deemed necessary
Third-Party Usage Surcharge
When a shipment is billed to a third party, solely determined by the parcel carrier.
Additional Handling Surcharge
A package that exceeds dimension or weight restrictions, or is packaged in a way that requires special treatment as not to damage it or other packages while in transit
The cost of fuel involved in shipping a parcel is part of the price to ship a parcel.
