Force
A push or a pull that can cause the motion of an object to change. It has two important properties: strength and direction.
Balanced Force
Two equal forces acting in opposite directions. Results in no change in motion.
Unbalanced Force
When one force is stronger than the other the result is motion. (Net force is greater than 0)
Motion
The process of moving or changing position.
Gravity
A noncontact force that acts over a distance and pulls all objects towards each other. Objects with more mass have a stronger pull.
Inertia
the tendency of an object in motion to stay in motion, or an object at rest to stay at rest.
Mass
the amount of matter in an object.
Net force
The combination of all forces acting on an object.
Newton
SI unit of force
