What are the advantages and disadvantages of soft contact lenses vs. rigid contact lenses?

Advantages of hard lenses are best optical quality and their longevity. Disadvantages are initial comfort, lacks disposability.
Advantages of soft lenses are that they are disposable and are more comfortable initially. Disadvantages would be their poor optic quality for irregular prescriptions.
