2 Main Types of muscles
Voluntary and Involuntary
muscles you control such as arms, legs and face
muscles you cannot control such as the heart and stomach
Muscles move the bones
by working in opposite pairs. One muscle pulls the bone in one direction and the other pulls it in another direction.
Skeletal muscles are attached to bones by what?
There are 3 kinds of muscle tissue
Skeletal, Smooth and Cardiac
Describe skeletal muscles
They are striped muscles attached to the bones. They are voluntary muscles because you control their movement.
Describe Smooth muscles
They are not striped. They make up the walls of organs like the stomach and intestines. They are involuntary because you cannot control them.
Describe cardiac muscles
They are striped but are involuntary. They are found in the heart tissue.
