What is the water cycle?
a process in which water travels from the ocean back to the ocean
What are the three stages of the water cycle?
evaporation, condensation, precipitation
What happens during evaporation?
the sun's energy heats water and turns it into a gas called water vapor
What happens during condensation?
When the water vapor rises, it cools and changes to a liquid. A cloud forms when there is a lot of condensation.
When does a cloud form?
When a lot of water vapor condenses.
What is precipitation?
Water falling from earth's atmosphere back to Earth's surface

1. Most water goes back to the oceans.
2. Water soaks into the soil for crops and plants.
