cast of characters
list of all the characters in a play; usually in the order of appearance; found at the beginning of a script
prose
Any writing that is not poetry
drama
a story written to be preformed by actors/actresses. Serious, usually with a theme.
setting
The context in time and place in which the action of a story occurs.
dialogue
A conversation between characters
script
The written text of a play, film, or broadcast.
stanzas
Grouped lines of poetry
meter
A regular pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables in a line of poetry
describe
Give a detailed account or picture of a situation, event, pattern or process.
stage directions
The specific instructions a playwright includes concerning sets, characterization, delivery, etc.
theme
A message/lesson about life or human nature that the writer shares with the reader.
