The World Wide Web Consortium
is the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3). It is arranged as a consortium where member organizations maintain full-time staff for the purpose of working together in the development of standards for the World Wide Web.
File Transfer Protocol
is a network protocol used to exchange and manipulate files over a TCP computer network, such as the Internet. It t may connect to an FTP server to manipulate files on that server.
is a network communications method that groups all transmitted data, irrespective of content, type, or structure into suitably-sized blocks, called packets. This allows parts of files to be sent, so in-case that one packet gets lost only that packet has to be resent.
Asynchronous Transfer Mode
is a type of packet switching. Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by, and normally presented to, an end-user while it is being delivered by a streaming provider.

in which each character is sent at irregular intervals in time. So a transmission is broken up into pieces, with information about their order and size. Used for html and data.
