these drugs are similar to cocaine but the effects last longer and they are cheaper. Used to decrease fatigue and increase mental alertness
amphetamines
the most widely used illicit drug in the US. Psychological dependance can occur but no physical dependance is known yet. Side effects include dry, red eyes, increased appetite, dry mouth, drowsiness, and mild tachycardia
marijuana
drugs that stimulate the nervous system and produce varied changes in perception and mood. response to these drugs depends on MOOD, emotional makeup and expectations (ability to cope with perceptual distortions).
hallucinogens
known as the party drug, amphetamine, both stimulant and depressant. Death can occur due to overheating. S/E= anxiety, confusion, depression, possible brain damage, dehydration, heat stroke, muscle cramping, blurred vision
