Explain the difference in what the Union Soldier returned home to and what the Confederate soldier returned home to.
Union soldier returned home to thriving cities, everything that it was before the war. Confederate soldiers come home to everything burned down.

1). He'd give Amnesty.
2). 10% of a state took an oath of loyalty, then wrote a constitution.
3). No high military official could hold office.
Who assassinated Lincoln and who took Lincoln's place as President?
John Wilkes Booth assassinated Lincoln. And Andrew Johnson took his place as President.
Explain the term Radical Republican.
Johnson received opposition to putting those plans into operation by the Radical Republicans which had won popularity during the war and so took control of both houses of congress.
List 3 goals of the Radical Republicans.
1). Punish the south for the civil war.
2). Guarantee Blacks their freedom.
3). Make sure the old southern plantation aristocracy would never again challenge northern industrial interests in Congress.
What did the southern states add to their constitution to limit the civil rights of blacks?
The Black Codes.
Describe the "Friedman's Bureau", "Civil Acts Right Of 1865", " The 14th Amendment", The 15th Amendment", and the "Tenure Of Office Act".
1). Friedman's Bureau- Was formed in 1865 to provide education, medical care and other aid to blacks and poor whites.
2). Civil Rights Act Of 1865- Was passed to protect the blacks citizenship rights.
3). The 14th Amendment- All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
4). The 15th Amendment- The right to vote may not be denied due to race or color.
5). Tenure Of Office Act- It said the President could not remove any cabinet members without their consent.
