a protest to be non violent. led by gandhi and the salt march has to do with this bc gandhi takes a stand and tries to mobilize mass support. all connected with the non violent protest in the end. illegally got salt

fascism is when the state is placed above the individual, normally the dictator. for ex hitler was elected and went from chancellor to dictator and he started to have more controlled system and people gave it a try bc it settled their minds and they thought it'd make peace after the great depression

holocaust started when hitler went to vienna and tried learning about art and he then found his hate for jews so when he figured that out he created the nazi group and they attacked the jews and sent them out of their homes to ghettos and the separated them from family. they sent the jews to work camps and concentration camps and they were put in gas chambers and killed and later their bodies were burned

apartheid is separation because of skin color and race. blacks live a bad life and can't do anything and they had no say. whites had all power. anc begins peaceful protests. didnt work and blacks go to mandela who is violent, he is then arrested and later released by de klerk and he ends apartheid. mandela is released and elected and he rules and then to rebuild allows people to work together and rugby rebuilds too.

yugoslavia was a multi ethnic with 6 republics and small ones in there too. conflict in bosnia included serbs croaks, and bosniaks, all of them wanted independence/peace. they used ethnic cleansing and mass genocide. the nato later strikes then went to kosovo which was muslim albanians fighting for peace. terrorism and stuff was also used. milosevic then is charged for war crime.

september 11: hijacked planes hit 3 US targets, the twin towers and the pentagon. one crashed in a field. osama bin laden and al qaeda were responsible. this led to afghanistan and Iraq, US said that if you do any terrorism then they'll hunt you down

appeasement is giving in to something to simply avoid conflict. many used this bc people wanted no conflict after the great depression and another was that france demoralized.
