Four Marks of the Church

Role of the Pope, Bishops, Priests, Deacons:
Pope- is the leader of all the bishops
Bishop- is supposed to use the governing authority in his diocese by having concern not only for his own diocese but for the Church throughout the world, in a collegial relationship with the other bishops and using his authority in communion with the whole Church under the guidance of the Pope.
Priest- his responsibilities are with the bishop, his responsibility is to the diocese. Often he governs a specific parish community or office within the diocese; and he is primarily a sacramental minister, especially responsible for celebrating the Eucharist and in this way making Jesus' offering on the cross present in the world in our own time.
Deacons- to live in the world and earn their living as laypeople do, and many are married with families of their own.
They serve in the liturgy, in proclaiming the Word of God, and in performing charitable
service on behalf of the Church. They are called to a special holiness of life.
