1.10 macbeth the power of words
Terms in this set (2)
In a response of at least five sentences, comment on this interpretation and explain your impression of Lady Macbeth in this scene. Use at least four specific examples from the clip to support your answer. Things to consider: her facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice. You will submit your response in the assessment for this lesson.
In this interpretation lady macbeth is trying to empower him to go and kill the king, she uses emphasis on "innocent flower" but says it sharply and she looks kind of angry which is showing the greed in her. She then says "you shall put this night's great business into my dispatch" but she says it to him as if there are no questions ask, and she positions herself to be taller than Macbeth showing her authority and that she is in charge of this. She is belittling him but it is reverse psychology because it actually makes him find the strength to kill him. She then says "give solely sovereign sway and masterdom", which shows how greedy she is because even though she wants him to kill the king she is ready to have all the power that comes with it.
picture of a castle and trees
description: I chose this picture for the setting when the messenger comes to talk to macbeth and tell him "i look'd toward Birnam, and anon, methought, the wood began to move", it's so unbelievable to macbeth that woods can move but now as you see in the picture there is the woods right next to his house? Macbeth says "fear not, till birnam wood do come to dunsinane" and now a wood comes toward dunsinane", for him it was unbelievable.
