Rape trauma syndrom: cluster of emotional reactions including psych distress, phobic reactions, and sexual dysfunction.
Acute phase/Disorganization - period of several+ weeks, feelings of self-blame, fear, depression, fear of attacker returning. May appear calm internally but experience headaches, irritability, and jumpiness
Long-term phase/Reorganization - may last for several years, lingering fears/phobias, fear of sex, lack of desire/arousal, altered feelings of safety/personal vulnerability
