Education - Contracting professionals are required to obtain at least 24 semester hours in accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management and a bachelor's degree.
Experience - The required experience needed for a level ___ certification is at least one year from the time assigned to contracting. This time does not start until you arrive at your first duty station.
Training - Training changes every few years to keep up to date with changing practices within the commercial marketplace. It is always a good idea to refer to the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) website for accurate and up-to-date information.
