if he/she is:
Faculty member of a reputable dental or dental hygiene school
Student of a reputable dental school who performs operations without pay
Performs laboratory work (only on inert matter)
Dental assistant who performs duties permitted under the Dental Practice Act
Physician licensed in the state, who does not represnt that he/she is practicing dentistry
Dental hygenist who practices dental hygiene in strict conformity with the state law

A licensed dentist may delegate to a qualified and trained dental assistant acting under the dentist's direct supervision any dental act that a resonable an prudent dentist would find is within the scope of sound of dental judgment.
