Sharecropping- the freedmen rented a plot of land from the landowner. He paid for the plot of land with a portion of his crops. The freedmen lived on the plot of land that he rented.
What were plantations for the African Americans?
Plantations- the African American worked as a slave and was under complete control of their masters. The slaves lived in the Big House on the plantations.
