Step 1:
-Wash Hands
-Introduce self by name, address client by name
-Explain task at hand, maintaining eye-to-eye contact

-Provide Privacy

-Raise bed, making sure the the HOB is lowered
Step 4:
-Raise bed rail on side of bed you are rolling client towards
Step 5:
-Have client move towards you before you roll them
Step 6:
-Assist patient to roll onto side, toward raised side rail, asking them to hug themselves so they don't roll onto their arm
-Have them bend their top leg a little
Step 7:
-Adjust pillow under clients head
Step 8:
-Place pillow behind client's back to help them stay laying on their side
Step 9:
-Go to other side of bed, check and make sure client is not laying on their arm
Step 10:
-Place a pillow under top arm to support it
Step 11:
-Place a pillow under top leg to support it, and cover patient up
Step 12:
-Lower bed, make sure call light is within reach, and client is comfortable and good
-Unit Order
Step 13:
-Remove privacy and wash hands
