What is a consumer?
Organism that maintains life by ingesting molecules made by other organisms. Cannot produce their own food
What do herbivores consume?
Herbivores consume producers like plants, leafy trees and algae.
What do carnivores consume?
Carnivores are meat eaters and consume herbivores, omnivores and even other carnivores.
Why is a herbivore called a primary consumer?
Because herbivores eat producers like plants and leafy trees rather than other animals.
Why is a carnivore called a secondary consumer?
They don't eat producers, they eat herbivores, omnivores and sometimes other carnivores.
