Definition: everything on and around the Earth's surface and atmosphere
Example: An example of an environment is natural resources.

Definition: The excavation of sand, silt and mud from the bottom of a sea or river usually to maintain navigable waterways

Example: Warm ocean water mixes with cooler air then they will both rise to create high winds like Hurricane Katrina.

Definition: Impacts precipitation levels causing periods of drought and flooding affecting all spheres

Definition: Causes fractures in the lithosphere
Example: San Andreas fault
Volcanoes
Definition: Releases gases and ash into the atmosphere; released ash affects lithosphere and hydrosphere
Example: Volcanoes erupt magma and ashes.
Lithosphere
Definition: The outermost shell of the earth
Example: tectonic plates, mountains last layer of earth
Atmosphere
Definition: The layer of air that surrounds the earth
Example: A layer of gases that surrounds a planet and is held down by gravity.
Hydrosphere
Definition: Comprised of all the water that is on earth including lakes, rivers, oceans and underground supplies
Example: hydrosphere is like all bodies of water
Biosphere
Definition: Refers to the living plants and animals that inhabit the land and water on the earth, also known as ecosystems
Example: its basically all living things
Desalinization
The process of removing salt from seawater
