Naming Acids (I did not write this but I wish I had)

Remember that acids ALWAYS start with a hydrogen (H) -If there are only two types of atoms then the name will begin with the prefix HYDRO and end with the suffix ...IC. If there is a polyatomic ion (like NO3) then you name the ion and change the suffix ---ATE to ---IC and add the word acid. If the polyatomic ion has the ending ---ITE then it is changed to --- OUS and the word acid is added.
