It isn't good to keep using romanji when you're studying Japanese. Sometimes the romanji doesn't correlate with the hiragana or katakana. And it doesn't get you use to using the Japanese language.
In my opinion, it is better to use furigana (Kanji with hiragana on top). You still get to know how to say/spell the kanji and you don't have to rely on romanji.
Microsoft Word has furigana and it is fairly easy to use. https://www.thejapanesepage.com/fun/furigana_in_word/
I use furigana when I am typing (or writing) something new in Japanese. In my opinion, it is also better to use furigana instead of something like this アメリカの街(まち)は綺麗(きれい)です(American cities are pretty) when writing or typing sentences.
街 (まち)
city
綺麗 (きれい)
pretty
