Before first contact we used spatial recognition to tell time. These words are derived of off the western 7 day week. For 'Ɔ́ɔ́'ɔ́ɔ́ɔ́nííínénnɔh we base it off of Sunday; the "holy day". We then count the night times after Sunday. For Friday, the day used to be a day in which our people would be distributed beef; they would have to butcher themselves, hence the name, "chopping day." Evidently, on Saturday they would be given rations, hence the name for Saturday, "Give away day". Before contact we just kept tract of the days based on the moons and winters where used to keep track of years.
