What is matter? 4 states of matter? Changing states
that which has mass and occupies space, consisting of atoms.
a form of matter that has a definite shape and volume
matter that has a definite volume but no definite shape
A state of matter with no definite shape or volume
the fourth state of matter with ionised particles.
solid to liquid, eg. ice melts to water
liquid to solid, eg. making ice-cubes from water.
gas to liquid, eg. steam condenses on the shower window.
liquid to gas, eg.wet clothes dry up in the cloth line.
Same as Vaporisation.
a change in a substance that does not involve a change in the identity of the substance
a change that produces matter with a different composition than the original matter
a substance changes from a solid directly into a gas, eg. dry ice and iodine.
the rapid vaporisation of a liquid with vigorous bubbling, eg. water boils at 100 degree Celsius.
