Big Essay- All Books
C: How do Women fit in a world that is shaped by the affairs of men.
- Vigirl's Aeneid: Juno has a big role in the book is the Queen of all Gods and her husband being Jupiter. Dido has an even bigger role being that whole love on the couch scene wanting love but kills herself instead. She also was said to be heroic and noble in the eyes of certain men like Aeneid as well as finding a new homeland for all of them in a time of need. They both had roles of men by taking the initiative and doing what they want and not waiting for men to do it or to be told by men what to do. Dido killed herself over a man because she was heartbroken and he left her without telling.
- Marie de France: for women in real society to be an author, first of all, it was incredible let alone have a couple of well known novels at the end. She wrote little short stories into a big book. In a lot of her short stories the women have a big role and do men's jobs or thinking for the men. For example in the story Guigemar the main character is a knight and a woman who helps him.
-Boccaccio: The women have a couple of different roles in the Tales and a lot are the men deceiving the women. In Tale 10.5 Dianora is the one deceiving Ansaldo. Yes, he does write about how some are almost taken advantage of like the Old King with the 2 daughters and more but nothing really bad ever happens to the women in the stories. They all end up okay or even with a happy ever after ending.
