Additive Inverse
The opposite of a number
Associative Property
Changing the grouping does not change the sum or product.
Coefficient
A number multiplied by a variable in an algebraic expression
Commutative Property
In a sum, you can add the numbers in any order. In a product, you can multiply the numbers in any order.
Constant Term
A term that has a fixed value and does not contain a variable.
Distributive Property
A property where a number is given out to other values.
Equivalent Expressions
Expressions that are equal in value but appear different.

A set of whole numbers and their opposites.
Like Terms
Terms that are being raised to the same power that can be added or subtracted.

A pair of numbers that when multiplied together equal one.

The action of replacing a term by another that is equivalent.
