Began August 23, 1942. Major turning point in the war. Fought between Germany and Russia. German army surrendered

Invasion of Normandy on June 6th 1944. Largest land and sea attack in history
Battle of Bulge
1944-1945 battle in which German troops attempted on final counterattack in Allied lines. Allies eventually would push Germans back.
Kamikaze
A Japanese aircraft loaded with explosives and making a deliberate suicidal crash on an enemy target.
Nuremberg Trials
A set of trials held in Nuremberg, Germany prosecuting war criminals for their crimes against humanity
Demilitarization
Disbanding of a nation's army. After WWII Japan was forced to disband their army
Democrazation
The process of creating a government elected by the people. After WWII Japan's government would be introduced to democracy
Axis Powers
Germany, Italy, and Japan. An alliance between these nations during WWII
Allied Powers
U.S.A., Britain, and Russia. An alliance between these nations during WWII
