What causes us to have seasons?
The seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth's rotational axis away or toward the sun as it travels through its year-long path around the sun.
Explain why Florida is typically warmer than North Carolina.
Florida is closer to the equator.

Why do we have a leap year?
Because the earth does not orbit the sun precisely 365 days. It occurs every 4 years.
Why are daylight hours shorter in the winter than in the summer?
In winter, as the tilt of earth's axis in relation to the sun changes, the North Pole tilts away from the sun resulting in shorter days in the northern hemisphere pf the earth.
