George III
Became king of Great Britain in 1760. Reasserted the powers of the crown. His government made policies that helped bring about the American Revolution.
Stamp Act
British law passed in 1765 by the British Parliament that imposed taxes on many everyday items like newspapers and pamphlets in the American colonies. Repealed by the British in 1766.
George Washington
