clipboard
A temporary storage place in the computer's memory.
copy
The text remains in its original location and a copy of it is placed on the clipboard.
cut
Text that is removed from the document and placed on the clipboard.
keyboard shortcut
One or more keys that you press on the keyboard to complete a task.
drag and drop
Position the pointer on top of the selected text and then drag the selected text to the new location.
insertion point
Text appears in a document at this point.
Paste
An action that allows a user to copy or cut an object or text from one location and move it into another location.
Paste special
A feature that gives control of how the content is displayed when pasted from the clipboard.
Ribbon
Contains commands for working with the document, organized by tabs.

A collection of styles that have coordinated colors and fonts.
Font
The style or type of text used.
Template
A document that contains formatting, styles, and sample text that you can use to create new documents.
