What is actual sin?
Actual sin is any sin which we ourselves commit.
What are the two TYPES of actual sin?
Mortal and venial
What is a venial sin?
A sin that damages our relationship with God.
What is a Mortal sin?
A mortal sin is very serious. It completely breaks our relationship with God.
What are the steps for receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation(Confession)?
I go into the confessional and kneel.
I make the Sign of the Cross and say: "Bless me Father for I have sinned."
I say: "This is my first confession" or "It has been one week, or one month since my last confession".
I confess my sins.
I listen to what the priest tells me.
I say the Act of Contrition loud enough for the priest to hear me.
After I receive absolution from the priest, I say: "Thank You Father".
After leaving the confessional, I say the penance the priest has given me and thank God for forgiving my sins.
