Existentialism
A philosophy based in the the thought that things are meaningless. Leads to a search for the meaning and definition of 'authentic existence'. A modern philosophy brought about by the modern industries and advances.
Modernism
A philosophical movement that is characterized by movements that are inherently different from the traditional movements. it was seen in common media like films and art as well as in other philosophies
Peronism
A very famous form of populism which was started by Juan Perón to help the middle and lower class earn fairly. It began in Argentina after a coup, and was created to ease societal differences and tensions, and aided in compromises.
Populism
A style of political leading where the governors take the cues and support from the governed. This is done through rallies and manipulation. This was very popular in South America during the mid 20th century.
Non-Aligned Movement
A movement started in 1961 that was cofounded along with similar movements in India, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, and Ceylon. It was anticolonialist and aimed to promote independence from superpower countries.
Great Leap Forward
The movement started by Mao Zedong in China, the goal of which was to launch China into 20th century industry and create self-sufficiency by redistributing land to form collective farms.
Containment
A policy adopted in 1946 by the United States to 'contain' the spread of communism, formed because of the threat of the USSR's expansion and presence in Europe.
