STUDY
PLAY
Posture
How one stands, sits and keeps one's upper body.
Alignment
The position of parts of the body in relation to each other or the rest of the body. (e.g knees over toes)
Co-ordination
Skill in controlling all parts of the body/ moving more than 1 body part at time.
Balance
Skill in controlling the body weight over the point of support/ holding a still position.
Strength
The muscle power required to execute dance movements.
Stamina
Muscular or cardiovascular endurance. The ability to exert yourself for a long time.
Flexibility
The range of movement in a joint and the length of muscles.
Mobility
The dancer's ability to move the whole body easily and skillfully.
Control
The skills required to ensure that the body can master dance movements.
Flow of energy
How the energy passes from one action to another.
Mental capacity
Concentration, confidence, determination to succeed.
