a tool, similar to an ice pick, used for opening spaces in the weaving

a circular

the interweaving of the basket spokes around the upper rim of the basket to lock the weavers into place
Froe
a cutting tool consisting of a long metal blade with a handle attached at a right angle on one end to provide leverage
Glut
a wedge-shaped piece of wood used for splitting logs
Plaiting
the interweaving of flat basketry materials
Randing
the over and under weaving pattern consisting of a single weaver woven alternately in front of one stake and behind the next
Rib
a splint inserted into the weaving to serve as a foundation element
Slath
the arrangement of crossed stakes in the base of the basket that makes up the initial foundation
Spokes
the vertical members of the framework of the basket
Weavers
the flexible, horizontal elements of a basket
