The saints are held up in the church to set examples for the rest of us. The saints are so closely related to Christ in heaven so that they can intercede for us and we can pray to them. The saints are also an example that we can achieve salvation and that there is an after-life

During the early rise of christianity the faith appealed to women and to the poor. To join christianity was free meaning it didn't cost the poor anything. The church also took care of the poor and the sick. It gave the poor a place of safety and health. Christianity also appealed to women in Rome. Many women started house churches. In house churches women felt safe and could floursih within their own homes. In these house churches they were able to spread the faith to other women as well as traveling missionaries.

The Bishops come together to discuss any issues in the church. The magisteriums responsibility is to teach and show how we are all witnesses to God's love in the world.

The Charism of infallibility allows the church to recognize that teachings can be infallible or wrong. Teachings need to have orthodox content. The two ways that this charism operates in the church is through the pope and the community of Bishops. The Bishops are allowed to come together in an ecumenical council and discuss any issues in the church and discuss wether they may be infallible or not. The pope can also call infallibility on his own teachings (this has only occurred twice). The pope is called to act in "Ex Cathedra" meaning how Peter did and the pope should act in Apostolic Succession.
