Words that express quality, kind or condition.
Details
Small elements that collectively make up a work.
Dialect
The form of language spoken by people in a particular region or group.
Imagery
The use of descriptive language to create vivid word pictures that appeal to the senses.
Irony
An intentional contrast between what is expected and what occurs.
Mood
The atmosphere or feeling the writer creates for the reader.
Theme
The controlling/main idea of a work of literature. Usualy a general statement about life.
Tone
A writer's attitude toward his or her subject.
Word Choice
Specific words an author uses to convey mood or tone.
Antagonist
A character or force in conflict with a main character, or protagonist
Protagonist
The main character of a literary work.
