"Negative" is just a fancy way of saying "not". Any sentence that says "X is NOT Y" or "X did NOT do Y" is a negative sentence.
In Japanese, we "Negate" Diastal/Polite Verbs by adding the "EN" ending
Ikimasu - Will/does go
Ikimasen - Will not / does not go.
Be careful: はい and いいえ don't perfectly match up to "Yes" and "No".
はい means "what you said is accurate", and いいえ means "what you said is not accurate".
This is the negative ending of all Distal/Polite Verbs
Sentence-Ending Particle that changes the sentence to mean "..., right?", or "..., Y'know?"
Ikimasen ne? - You won't go, right?
