The goddess of wisdom and strategy warfare
City is named after her (Athens) which is a holy city in Greece
According to mythical lore, Poseidon and her had a completion and she won and by winning she created the olive tree,and now is commonly used by winners in the Olympics
Legend of her birth, has it that she is the daughter of Zeus and Metis, the god of all gods and goddess of Mars. So Zeus had heard a prophecy that the child of Metis born the child would be lord of the heavens, so in a way to prevent that Zeus swallowed Metis while being still pregnant with Athena. But later on she grew in her Metis then came out of Zeus's head when he had a headache one day.
Athena often helps hero's like Jason and Perseus.
She is allowed to use Zeus' thunderbolt, with the weapons of her own, a spear and the shield of Aeigus given to her by her father Zeus.
Her symbols include the owl and the olive tree.
She was very skilled in the art of war and she helped the heroes Odysseus and Hercules. She is known as inspiring Odysseus with the strategy of using the Trojan Horse to defeat the city of Troy.
She is known as having invented the art of navigation.
Dionysus
(Bacchus)
Dionysus was born from Zeus' thigh.
Dionysus' mother Semele is a mortal.
Zeus was madly in love with Semele that she was granted one wish. She wished that Zeus would appear in his true god form. Zeus did and she was consumed in the lightning thus killing her. She was pregnant at the time with Dionysus. Zeus rescued him secretly and he developed in his thigh. Hera was mad at Zeus and when Dionysus was born Hera wanted him killed. Dionysus wandered around and was finally found and killed. Dionysus was brought back to life and Zeus gave him to the nymphs to be raised.
Dionysus is the god of wine, vegetation, pleasure and festivity.
He invented wine and spread the art of tending grapes. He has a dual nature. On the one hand bringing joy and divine ecstasy. On the other brutal, unthinking, rage. Thus, reflecting both sides of wines nature. The festival for Dionysus is in the spring when the leaves begin to reappear on the vine. Dionysus is one of the few gods that can rescue someone from the underworld.

Hephaestus
(Vulcan of Mulcilber)
Son of Zeus and Hera
Although many believe Hera alone produced him, and he isn't the son of Zeus
He is the only god who is considered "physically ugly"
He also is the only god who is "lame." (Physically handicapped at the legs).
Accounts as to how he became "lame" vary. Some say that Hera, upset by having an ugly child, flung him from Mount Olympus into the sea, breaking his legs. Others say that he took Hera's side in an argument with Zeus, and Zeus flung him off Mount Olympus.
He is the god of Fire
He is a kindly, peace-loving god who is popular on earth and in heaven.
He is said to have married Aphrodite (Odyssey)

Hera is Zeus's wife and sister.

Hera had two sons, both of whom she was disgraced by. Hephaestus, the god of smiths, who was lame and deformed, and Ares, the god of war.
Roman name: Juno
Hera banned Leto (mother of Apollo) from giving birth on Terra Firma when she found out Zeus was the father.
Apollo
-Recognized as a God of light and the sun, also recognized with truth and prophecy, healing, plague, music, and poetry.
-Son of Zeus and Leto and he is the twin sister of Artemis.
-Born on Delos, a floating island
-Four days after birth, Apollo killed a dragon.
-Famous for his Oracle of Delphi
-Apollo had many lovers, both male and female
-Apollo is the only God that has the same name in Greek and Roman.
-It is said that Apollo shot arrows infected with plague into the Greek encampment during the trojan war.
Hermes
(Mercury)
Hermes was the great Olympian God of animal husbandry, roads, travel, hospitality, heralds, diplomacy, trade, thievery, language, writing, persuasion, cunning wiles, athletic contests, gymnasiums, astronomy, and astrology.
-Son of Zeus and a mountain nymph named Maia.
-Born in a cave on Mt. Cyliene.
-When Hermes was born, he found an empty tortoise shell and turned
it into a Lyre and also stole Apollo's cattle and hid them in a cave.
-Wore winged boots and sometimes a winged cap with a chlamys cloak.
-His main symbol is a winged staff with snakes wrapped around it.
-It was tradition that travelers would sacrifice to Hermes
whenever they would go on a trip.
-Guided dead souls to the underworld.
-Thought to have made the pan-pipes and the flute.
-Aided heros such as Odysseus and Perseus in their quests.
HAdes

ades was one of Cronus and Rhea's offspring.

•Story:
•Hades was swallowed by his father at birth along with 4 other siblings. Later, Zeus saved them by giving Cronus a poison to make him throw up the kids. After that, Hades and his brothers challenged and killed Cronus giving them the power which they split. Zeus got the sky, Poseidon got the sea, and Hades got the short end with the underworld.
Poseidon
Poseidon is one of the 3 top gods in Greek mythology, The three top gods were brothers who divided the world among themselves. Poseidon's "share" was the sea. As The god of the sea, Poseidon is usually seen with a trident. He is the god of water, horses, and earthquakes and was considered responsible for shipwrecks and drownings. Poseidon is the son of cronus and rhea.
Poseidon has a wife the sea-goddess
Amphitrite. However, according to a tradition,
Poseidon was married more than once.
Famous Children: the merman Triton and
the Nymphs Rhode and Benthesikyme.
Poseidon was a major civic god of several cities:

Demeter was the great goddess of agriculture, grain, and bread. Also known as a mare goddess - hid among the horses to escape Poseidon. She was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was the sister of Hestia, Hera, Aides, Poseidon, and Zeus. She is responsible for creating winter. She was a loving mother, empathic, and persistent.She lived her life through her daughter and eventually had depression.

Zeus
(Jupiter)
Zeus is the 6th child born of Cronus and Rhea.
He is the god of the sky and the weather.
He is the leader of the Olympians who all live on Mount Olympus.
He is married to Hera (his sister) but is famous for having many affairs.
Because Cronus, ruler of the Titans, was afraid that one of his children would overthrow him, just like he overthrew his father, Uranus. He swallowed his first five children - Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. This infuriated Rhea and when Zeus was born she tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock wrapped in blankets. Rhea then gave Zeus to the nymphs so that they could raise them.
He hurled lightning bolts to whoever displeased him.
Zeus presides over all oaths, hospitality, and suppliants.
Zeus has many children but his most famous one is Hercules.
Zeus was very strong and by his teens, his power was unmatched to anyone else in the world.
When Zeus was at his prime, he took on his father, Cronus. Metis made a drink which would make Cronus vomit up his children. Rhea convinced him to let Zeus become his cupbearer at Mount Olympus. This gave Zeus the perfect chance to give Cronus the drink. When the other children were vomited up, they appointed Zeus their leader. Cronus was furious and regrouped the Titans and fought. There was an epic battle. Zeus won the huge battle and beat Cronus.
Aphrodite
(venus)
Aphrodite was the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility.
Aphrodite was judged most beautiful of three Olympian goddesses.
Zeus was frightened that Aphrodite was going to be the cause of violence between the other gods, so he married her off to the god Hephaestus the humorless god of smoothing.
The birds that represent her are the dove, the swan, and the sparrow.
She has a girdle that allows her to have whoever she desires.
She had 10 different lovers, and over 19 children.
It is told that Aphrodite was born 2 ways. The first way was she was born daughter of Diane and Zeus. The second way was she was formed by the foam in the sea.
She is mother of Eros
Aphrodite would restore your youth and beauty if you honored her.
Aphrodite caused the Trojan war by bribing prince Paris, with the most beautiful woman in the world, just to win the most beautiful immortal goddess contest.

Achilles and Myrimidons withdraw from the war, troy is winning. Patrolcus cannot sit by and watch the greeks lose, so Patroclus goes and fights with Myrmidons and gets killed by Hector. Achilles is furious

Hectors fate is that he will not live and this reminds us that Achilles knew that if he goes to fight in the war, he would die

i think he is a tragic hero because he saved the city once but he also caused a lot of pain

It might have been if oedipus was left out to die not saved frim anybody but at the same time no because of fate that might have been planned to have happened
