Used in the order of operations to show grouping. The operations within these are completed first:
(2+3)x4 ----> (2+3) is solved first, then multiplied by 4

Order of Operations
The order of performing mathematical operations within a problem:
3. and 4. Multiplication and Division
5. and 6. Add and Subtract
The bottom number of a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in each whole.
3/4 ---> 4 is the bottom number
6x(10+4) = (6x10) + (6x4)
When multiplying by a sum, you can just multiply each number in the parenthesis by the outside number
