Tell me about yourself?
I am a college student at CU Boulder I'm a dance major with a minor in sociology. I'm currently commuting from aurora to Boulder. I am a very hard working, positive and friendly person! I was on the deans list last semester and I am on track at the moment to receive that award again this semester, I'm also apart of an honors program at CU. I am also very good at picking things up quickly, that's one of the major qualities as a dancer I need. I have no work experience, I've only babysat some of the younger kids from my dance studio in high school and I've subbed a couple dance classes in high school for my dance teachers.
Why do you want to work for Chipotle?
I feel chipotle has a very positive atmosphere, there hasn't been a time where I've walked into a chipotle and felt that I wasn't welcomed. I feel this would be an amazing first job for me to help me learn and to gain experience that will continue to help me in the future. Chipotle has a really strong set of values and you care about the quality of the food you produce. I would truly be proud to work here.
How would you deal with a difficult costumer?
I would deal with a difficult customer by following my training, I want to remain this positive role model and resolving the outcome for the customer. I would be sure to remain calm and positive and I would ask them questions to help get to the bottom of their problem. I want to customer to feel like they are being heard. I would intensively listen to them and make them feel valued before quickly responding the issue with a solution that they are satisfied with. Once the situation is resolved, I would consider what could be done to be sure this incident doesn't happen again to be sure that the service offered here at Chipotle is continuing to improve and develop to meet the needs of the customers.
What can you tell us about chipotle?
Chipotle was founded in 1993 by Steve Ella and it is a Mexican fast casual grab chain. You guys offer mission burritos, bowls and tacos. All of the chipotle stores are corporate owned.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
I am very determined and hardworking. I will strive to always do my best and never give up until I reach my goal. I also have a very positive attitude, I want everyone around me to feel good and I want to have a positive impact on their lives. A weakness I have a hard time saying no. Sometimes people will ask me for help when I may not have the capacity to do so but I continue to say yes. I am learning to say no because I believe it is important to ensure the quality of work you are doing is not compromised by taking on too much.
The customer gets rude after you tell them we don't offer x item/ service. What is the best course of action?
I would see if it is possible to help the customer with a similar alternative while remaining calm the whole time.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I plan to graduate from college and to pursue a career in dance. However I do realize that dancers don't make a lot of money, so considering this I would need a second job. I'd hope to still be with chipotle, I don't want to be that person who is constantly switching jobs. I'd want to be a trusted member of the team, whether that be here at this chipotle or at another chipotle.
Why should we hire you?
I'm a very positive upbeat person. I'd want to motivate my coworkers to be the best they can be even during the busiest moments.
What does food with integrity mean for you?
Chipotle doesn't exploit animals, people or the environment. Livestock isn't out through harsh conditions nor given antibiotics which is major within the fast food industry. Also if the food isn't meeting the high standards chipotle has for its food, you may pull the food item in question. Food with integrity makes a difference in how everything tastes while also changing the way people think about food.
How do you manage things when working in a fast paced environment?
Although I have no work experience, I've grown up doing competitive dance and at dance competitions there were times when I'd have dances back to back and I'd have to hurry up and change into the next costume I'd remain calm and make sure I was all organized by having everything set out and focus on getting prepared for the next dance when it's time. I'd also help other teammates if I finished before them. I feel I would do well with the pressures of working in a fast paced environment I do feel I would be a positive contributor to the team.
Standing for long periods of time?
After school and spending a lot of time on zoom I'm prepared to stand for longer periods of time. And as a dancer I spend a lot of time on my feet already, I would have all day dance rehearsals. I have no doubt that being around and moving on my feet all day will be an issue for me!
