Experimental and Control Condition - experimental; people are receiving the real substance ow whatever it is they are experimenting with and control condition is giving out the placebo
you can give one person red cranberry juice and the other the red liquid medicine
Random Assignment- randomly selecting participants to groups to not have any bias
in an experiment you can use a random generator to choose who goes in each group
Independent and Dependent Variables- independent- doesn't need to rely on anything. dependent- is reliant
caffeine- independent dependent- growth
does caffeine cause stunted growth
Confounding Variables- other factors than can end up in a result also
there can be an experiment with two tea that both has caffeine and want to see which will work better but some people may get a lot of sleep anyway so they'll have more energy
