Use of Epic

Access Epic from QV
There will be a line item for Epic Consultation, which will launch Epic and automatically sign you in.
Also line for Epic Encounter, which is a patient's self-made questionnaire.
Self-screening survey sent to patient via SMS from RxConnect, which, once complete, will display as Epic Encounter in QV.
Provide guidance on what information and steps need to be taken to document each consultation outcome.

AVS (After-Visit Sumamry)
A printout of consultation information entered that must be given to the patient.

Annual Consultation for contraceptive prescribing
1. Submit and sign consultation encounter in Epic.
2. Consultation barcode will print at register, along with visit summary. [OOP, because cannot bill insurance yet]
3. Alongside this consultation, up to 12 months of hormonal contraceptive (BC) can be prescribed.
If pt, within that year, wants to switch BC due to side-effects, then you may prescribe alternative without a service fee. But supply provided must not exceed the
visit due date.
If pt wants a referral, no charge.

NOTE: You can prescribe INITIAL BC if pt reports having hard time getting doctor.
Pt wants BC prescribed. Process?
Profile, then TC (Text Consultation questionnaire). Answers to questions will appear in QV as a questionnaire response. You will be prompted to continue to Epic.
Follow check-in procedure, including checking BP, smoking status, and OB/Gyn status (no other vital readings required for BC review)
Following through selection process and documentation will lead to Sign Encounter, which adds encounter to record, prints documents and barcode to pt, and sends summary to PCP. Even if 0 charge, it must be scanned out. No barcode prints if referred.
If BC is prescribed, it will pop up in QT as waiter and 'RPh Prescribed E-Rx.'
Only refills can be transferred.
