First Crusade -crusaders capture Jerusalem and make 4 states. Second crusade - Was a total failure and Saladin took back most of Jerusalem. Third crusade - Known as the kings crusade, many kings took part in it, but had many problems: German king dies drowning in a river, King Phillip of France returns home, and King Richard makes a "truce" with Saladin that christians can now go to the holy land. Fourth crusade - merchants in Venice convince crusaders to attack their trading rival, Constantinople, and they loot that city for three days. Later crusades - Achieved very little success and muslims take back everything they own.
